Welcome to Victoria’s Freedom of Information (FOI) Commissioner website. This website provides information about the important changes to Victoria’s FOI regime, including the establishment of Victoria’s first FOI Commissioner.

The FOI Commissioner is responsible for conducting reviews of FOI decisions by agencies, handling FOI complaints, monitoring agencies’ compliance with any professional standards set by the Minister, reporting to Parliament on the operation of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (External link) and providing education, advice and guidance to agencies and the public on Victoria’s FOI regime.

On this site, you can download application forms to request a review of an agency’s decision or lodge an FOI complaint. You can also download helpful resources to understand the changes to Victoria’s FOI regime.
